Šibenik is the oldest Croatian city on the Adriatic coast. First mentioned in 1066, it offers the safest natural harbor in the Adriatic. The town of Šibenik that grew around this rather unique harbour, is known for its medieval town with high stone houses, winding cobbled streets, numerous staircases, archways, churches, monasteries as well as St. James cathedral, which is part of UNESCO list of world cultural heritage. Šibenik is surrounded by three fortresses. The Fortress of St. Nicholas is the most important renaissance fortification on the Eastern Adriatic coast and stands in the St. Anthony Channel which connects Šibenik harbor with the open sea. Besides its rich history, Šibenik is close to two national parks which are just 30 minutes away. Šibenik is also home to one of Croatia’s spectacular Krka Waterfalls, beautiful lakes with excellent fishing and the town’s cathedral, dating back to 1434, which still remains one of the marvels of the Dalmatian Coast today.
This charming historical town is hugely popular with locals but is less well known by international travellers. All this is set to change with the recent opening of D-Resort Šibenik which first opened on 1st July 2015 and offers an uber modern luxury hotel for visitors of this region.
D-Resort Šibenik is a stunning hotel set on a beautiful peninsula and overlooking the super yachts parked up in Šibenik harbor.
D-Resort Šibenik offers 63 luxurious rooms, six suites and three exclusive villas. Hardwood floors, white concrete walls, rain showers, lavish furnishings and a large balcony provide the perfect backdrop to the breathtaking view of the crystal clear Adriatic Sea. The exclusive villas are incredibly spacious at over 1,600 square feet and decorated with minimalist Italian furnishings. There are two spacious en suite bedrooms, a living and dining room, a private terrace with dining table, and sunbeds.
You are spoilt for choice at D-Resort Šibenik with four bars and lounges. These include the Skyline bar on the hotel roof, the Green Bar, the Pool Bar which is located in the main pool area and the Lobby Bar. For me, the Skyline Bar stands out, offering incredible sunset views over the beautiful bay of Šibenik. After dinner DJ’s share thumping house tunes as the stars come out and later in the evening, the Skyline bar becomes a romantic oasis, for a beautiful evening with that special person or just enjoying tunes under the night sky.
There are two restaurants at D-Resort Šibenik. The Yacht Club restaurant is that cosy place where you take your family and friends to enjoy fusion of Mediterranean & Asian cuisine. The Art restaurant & bar which offers buffet breakfast, lunch and à la carte evening meals. The restaurant piano bar is the perfect place for after-dinner drink and cigar on the terrace, which goes well with All that jazz, Bossa nova or evergreen live entertainment.
Pool & Spa
The 220m² pool is the perfect place to relax and watching boats come and go. The D-Spa offers personalised face and body treatments with exclusive and unique skincare products such as Erno Laszlo and Sothys. Their extensive relaxation area, hamam, two finish saunas, steam room, vitality pool, ice fountain and beautiful outside infinity pool, will rejuvenate your body and soul. The hotel also offers a gym, kids club and shopping facilities so there is everything you could want or need on site.
D-Resort Šibenik is a chic, luxury hotel, just a stones throw from the beautiful Šibenik in Croatia. The modern finish and breathtaking views across the harbour and over the ancient fortresses make this the top choice of luxury hotel in Šibenik.
D-Resort Šibenik is very easy to reach, and is just a 40-minute drive away from Zadar and Split Airports (expect to pay around £40 GBP each way in a taxi), and 6 km away from the A1 highway. Located in the snazzy D-Marin Mandalina Marina, D-Resort Šibenik is also easily accessible by boat.
