Villa Las Artes
If you have a large family or travel with a group of friends, a villa rental can be the perfect solution. It can offer you and your family complete privacy but crucially, must also maintain the level of luxury you are used to.
There are only a few villas in Europe that I would wholeheartedly and personally recommend, and the exquisite Villa Las Artes in Marbella is one. In fact, if you are looking to arrange a family getaway during May or September, Marbella is undoubtedly your best choice. The weather is better than anywhere else in Europe, with wall to wall sunshine virtually guaranteed and balmy daytime temperatures of around 24’C. Whether you fancy a glass of fine wine as the sun sets, want to lounge under a palm tree with a novel, or take joy from tinkling the ivories of the Bechstein piano, in my humble opinion, Villa Las Artes is the perfect place to make all these memories and the best luxury villa in Marbella.
Why is Villa Las Artes so special?
Easily accessible at just over 30 minutes from Malaga airport, Villa Las Artes is located in the exclusive enclave of Marbella’s five-star Los Monteros hotel. This is the Beverly Hills of Marbella, a high-end residential area bordering the sea and adjacent to an excellent beach club. On the Hollywood theme, this villa is located up the road from Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith’s mansion (although rumours suggest their villa was recently sold after their divorce).
Villa Las Artes is an absolute work of art. It is stuffed full of jaw-dropping antiques and thick historic doors reclaimed from Spanish haciendas, convents and churches. Each unique piece has been delicately added to the villa making the house feel like a piece of history in a modern setting. The indulgence extends from the antiques to fine fabrics, thick rugs, roaring fireplaces and beamed ceilings. Yet this enormous residence somehow retains homely feel amongst the extravagance.
The villa boasts 5 individually decorated ensuite bedrooms, with two on the ground floor – ideal for older relatives. The living area is more of a hall than a lounge, with high ceilings but retaining the homely feel. Swing the doors open and take a seat at one of a number of alfresco sitting areas, which offer shaded and sun-drenched spots to lounge and dine. The 15-metre, salt water outdoor infinity pool looks down on the beach with far-reaching views to the horizon. The stunning terrace encrusted with palm trees wouldn’t be out-of-place in the highest end villa in Wailea, Hawaii.
Downstairs, a wine cellar, movie and snooker lounge are the perfect place for an after dinner drink and their windows look up at a waterfall . Upstairs, the remaining 3 bedrooms, additional sitting areas and a study leads onto a gym and a fantastic upstairs indoor pool and home spa with expansive views across the beach.
I could continue to wax lyrical about the merits of this exclusive mansion but the pictures, I hope, are enough to showcase just how special this place is. With a prime beachfront setting and stunning decor, villas simply don’t get better. Villa Las Artes is an enchanted world of sumptuous fabrics, luxurious furnishings and memorizing views. Step through the looking-glass into your own private palace from £28,000 GBP per week.
