Niramaya Resort & Spa
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and as I write about a resort as stunning as Niramaya Villas & Spa, I wonder whether readers will be able to pull their eyes away from the pictures to read my thoughts and opinions about this luxury resort.
Niramaya Villas & Spa in Queensland, Australia, is a boutique sanctuary of exclusive villas set amongst 15 hectares of lush tropical gardens and encircled by the native rainforest of Australia’s tropical north. The buildings that make up the resort are Balanese pavilion in style, and the villas which you stay in surround a beautiful lake which is full of bird and plant life.
The landscaping of the resort itself is just lovely. The restaurant opens up onto the stunning main resort pool. Adjacent to the resort is the private golf hole which is the perfect place to perfect your swing. You can also have a workout in the gym or play a spot of tennis. I prefer to unwind with a few laps in the 30m resort pool and then to lounge with a cocktail as the fragrance of frangipani floats upon the light breeze.
Villas themselves huge and well-appointed with Miele appliances and a Great Bose sound system. They offer excellent privacy whilst being open to the elements. The main open plan living area, for example, is surrounded by sliding doors on 3 sides so that you can truly open up and bring the outside in! You have both indoor and outdoor dining options and the private plunge pool is a dream. There is no need to go over to the main pool if all you want is a quick dip. The daybed next to the heated pool is a perfect place to chill out in the sun and in the evening there is no place better to dine al fresco than beside your pool.
I love the clean design and zen feel of these villas. Bedrooms are spacious and bathrooms have L’Occitane toiletries. At night you can slide your glass patio doors closed or slide them wide open and sleep to the sounds of nature. The villas back onto beautiful bushland, so the only noise you hear is the soothing wildlife occasional local birds.
A short stroll transports you to the coconut fringed sands of Four Mile Beach and leads all the way to the chic village of Port Douglas where the region’s famous cuisine, culture, and character awaits.
This is a place where nature literally insists on rejuvenating your body and soul. The resort is luxurious, intensely private, and is all about energy and natural beauty. Your own private plunge pool is a perfect place to while away days and days and at night, dine to the soundtrack of nature as you are cooled by the tropical breezes.
