The Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill is our home away from home. It isn’t the most luxurious hotel in London, but we have never had friendlier or better service. In particular, the staff in the Regency Club show such warmth and care towards us, that they do feel like an extended family. The service is also incredibly personal – there aren’t many hotels where likes and dislikes are taken note of to the point of buying our favourite gluten-free bread and providing goat’s cheese and duck’s eggs at breakfast to suit our complex dietary requirements. Although we no longer live in the UK and consequently visit less often than we would like, it is still remembered how I like my tea and each evening, a chilled diet tonic with fresh lime wedges appears as if by magic along with specially ordered dairy-free, gluten-free canapés.
It is because of this genuinely personal service, that we keep returning, although we also like the suites in the hotel. Those on the 9th floor have a private balcony overlooking the pretty Portman Square, whilst the Executive Suites on lower floors are very spacious for London. Until recently, only suites have had a stand-alone shower. However, after a multi-million pound renovation, many standard rooms in the hotel now have powerful wet-room style showers. In addition, the lower floors of the hotel have been brought up to date, with a warm, refreshed colour palette and new furniture making better use of space. We loved the witty pictures, made using Winston Churchill’s quotes, such as the cat below. Extra sound-proofing has also been installed, ensuring you will have a wonderful night’s sleep. The Churchill does not cater to those seeking something trendy, instead offering a traditional design with excellent services.
Driven2travel were treated to a sneak peak of the renovated rooms, so we are excited to share the pictures with you on Luxury Travel Diary as an exclusive preview. The images here were taken part way through the refurb – we can’t wait to see the newly designed suites when available. If you like the sound of a traditional hotel and would like to experience its superb service for yourself, why not come to our luxury travel event held from 8th-10th October. We have negotiated a fantastic rate for everyone booking with our special code.
