I was just going through my photographs from our last trip to Monaco when a flash sale at the luxury Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort appeared in my inbox. The marketeers in Monaco always seem to target me when I am missing their magical little principality the most.
For more about this hotel, read my review of the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort.
So what is so special about this offer? Firstly the price at just €180 EUR is the cheapest you will get at this hotel or in fact any luxury hotel in Monaco at any time of year. On similar dates, the Hermitage comes in at over double the price at €413 EUR. This flash sale rate is valid between 24 October 2015 and 31 March 2016 and must be booked by 21st September so you have just 10 days to take advantage of this offer. I have got my diary out and am busy re-arranging my dates as I write this.
Here is my advice and recommendations about booking and staying at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel out of season.
What room should I choose at the Monte-Carlo Bay?
Firstly it is worth paying the extra €40 EUR per night for a Sea View room as the view is amazing and balconies face south, west or east so it is quite feasible to sunbathe on your balcony into December at the Monte-Carlo Bay on a good day. The base Superior Mountain View is identical except that it faces North so it can be quite dark in comparison. A Twin Bed Seaview has 2 double beds and is the only room that can be booked to fit the whole family. This comes in at €250 EUR for this offer.
Which pools are open at the Monte-Carlo Bay out of season?
The Lagoon is only open May through to the end of September but there is also a very large indoor-outdoor pool that remains open year-round and you can power up and down inside and out in this pool.
Where is the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel located?
The Monte-Carlo Bay is built on a mad made peninsula on the eastern edge of Monaco. It is around a 15-minute stroll up to the main Casino square. In the winter the bay feels more isolated than the other hotels in Monaco but the price more than makes up for this mild inconvenience
What is the best restaurant in Monte-Carlo?
In my opinion, a strong contender for the best restaurant in Monte-Carlo is the Monte-Carlo Bay’s “Blue Bay” restaurant. Exquisite creations are served up by chef Marcel Ravin in a modern dining room and out on the magical terrace in the summer.
It is worth noting that these bookings cannot be canceled and do not include breakfast.
