I have been looking around for cheap airport transfers abroad after being stung by a transfer organized by the Fairmont Monte-Carlo from Nice Airport, which cost me almost double the price of a standard taxi (we paid less than half the price by picking up an ordinary taxi on our return).
There is always a fear that cheap equals poor quality, like the local taxis we have I used to pick up in Naples Airport to take me down to the port of Capri, the taxi. In the Naples scenario, my cheap local taxi was full of dents with seat belts that didn’t work.
Backlane airport transfers are now the transfer option I swear by. I have never had a bad or unpleasant driver, the cars are always immaculate Mercedes S class, and the price is always significantly less than the local taxis. My Nice Airport to Monaco, one-way transfer, saves around €40 EUR off the local taxi rate. I will report back on the saving on my next Malaga to Marbella transfer in October, but I am fairly confident it will be significantly less, and the car will once again be immaculate.
Another option is Uber (use the following Uber discount code for up to £10 GBP off your first ride CLAIREE413UE), which you can’t pre-book, unfortunately, and I don’t like waiting around. Or to take some kind of bus transfer, but I have no intention of donning bus pants to save a few euros. So Blacklane is my first choice for cheap airport transfers abroad.
Using my voucher code VY9B9Q1F, will reduce the cost of your first ride by €10 EUR, making it even better value.
