British Airways Flies B787-9 Dreamliner Heathrow To Silicon Valley

British Airways is launching a daily B787-9 Dreamliner service between London Heathrow and San Jose, California next summer. San Jose is just a 30 minute trip from the main airport at San Francisco but this new Californian routing will open up another routing to redeem Avios points and also a more direct service if your trip involves visiting the HQ of Apple and Google. In addition San Jose is a much smaller airport than San Francisco so offers less queues and a faster through-airport trip. Flights commence on May 4 and will connect London with Silicon Valley. This is BA278/279 the only flight service offered between Europe and San Jose.

Outbound service BA279 will depart LHR Terminal 5 at 1515 and arrive in San Jose at 1805. Return leg BA278 will leave San Jose at 2000 and land in London at 1405 the next day.

BA’s B787-9 will be configured in four classes with eight seats in First, 42 in Club World (business), 39 in World Traveller Plus (premium economy), and 127 in World Traveller (economy). The B787-9 World Traveller seat will offer an extra half-inch of width.

BA already operates daily A380s to Los Angeles and San Francisco in California.

In October, the airline will fly its first B787-9 Dreamliner to Delhi.
