Regular readers may know that Luxury Travel Diary offers a concierge service, providing benefits at 5 Star hotels around the world, cashback, and trip advice. Recently, we have had an increasing number of inquiries about airport transfer recommendations. The market has changed dramatically since the introduction of a number of new ride-booking apps and global limo services. We thought it was worth looking in detail at the options now available in London. We have chosen to compare the main possibilities for transfers from the wonderful Four Seasons Park Lane, which we were asked to book by a client.
Well, the results are in! As you can see from the table below, the cheapest option by far is the tube, but that isn’t very Luxury Travel Diary and with numerous suitcases wasn’t really a realistic option. Taxis can be good value, but the price is very unpredictable, and we once spent £90 GBP on a black cab from Heathrow to the West End, so tend not to recommend them. Whilst Uber has its uses, the inability to pre-book meant that this could cause too long a delay. Whilst the hotel car was the most convenient choice. It would involve paying over the odds. Blacklane provided the best value option, for either a business class or first-class car. Our client opted to be picked up in a brand new Mercedes S class with reclining rear seats and was extremely happy knowing he had received excellent value for money.
Contact us for a Blacklane promotional discount code and you will save €10 EUR/USD/GBP on your first ride with Blacklane. (I receive a €10 EUR/USD/GBP voucher too).
