The Garland in North Hollywood was built in 1972 by Fillmore Crank for his wife, actress Beverly Garland. This luxury hotel has just completed a US$20 million renovation.
Design firm Forchielli Glynn worked alongside Rossi Architecture showcased the first part of the refresh last November. Part of the final part of the renovation is the opening of The Front Yard, a new restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Chris Turano. Located under towering sycamore trees, The Front Yard promises an approachable menu that celebrates the Los Angeles food scene.
The renovation also includes the hotel’s lobby and lobby bar, with bright colour set against rich textures and pieces of art. The hotel’s 257 guest rooms, which include 14 suites, were also refurbished. Beverly Park (pictured above) is a beautiful garden perfect for outdoor events named after Beverly Garland.
“We had a vision to take all that is relaxing and fun about the Southern California experience and merge it with newly reimagined sophisticated style and comfort,” said owner James Crank. “My mother, Beverly Garland, is the muse of the property, and we were determined to preserve her style and legacy. With that in mind, the transformation is now consistent with today’s discerning traveler, incorporating a vibrant, playful and welcoming atmosphere with a core focus on service and the guest experience.”
