Another luxury hotel opening has caught my eye, this time in Bali. Mandapa, a Mandapa: A Ritz-Carlton Resort Reserve will open on September 5, 2015 set in the hills of Ubud, where we have also reviewed the Viceroy Bali and the luxury Sandat Glamping Tents.
This is the second recent opening for Ritz as Bali is also the home of the Ritz-Carlton Bali down by the beach, which you can easily travel to, making this an ideal luxury two-center holiday.
Why have they opened a hotel in these hills? It seems this area of Bali has been a sacred place for thousands of years, a place to rest your mind and body.
Mandapas is actually Sanskrit for temples, and visitors today will find a similar escape at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve; a secluded paradise where lush, rolling hills, the Ayung River, and verdant rice paddies create a unique sense of place. Here, the strike of a traditional Balinese gong marks your arrival, followed by a refreshing local drink infused with indigenous herbs. Your personal butler, who will remain at your service throughout your stay, will escort you to your villa or suite, one of only 60 available at this intimate property. Showcasing the architecture and craftsmanship of the area, each of our luxury accommodations features a private outdoor space with views of the river or surrounding scenery.
Away from daily distractions, guests will find joy in even the simplest activities, whether practicing yoga in our peaceful pavilion, enjoying a good book in the library, riding a bicycle through nearby villages, savoring a leisurely meal at our signature restaurant, swimming in the heated pool or surrendering at the hands of one of our experienced spa therapists.
Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, captures both the magic of Bali and the serenity of seclusion, offering a place where similar to the mandapas, a fulfilling experience awaits.
