The Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur (which opened in 2012) is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur central business district, within the vicinity of the GoldenTriangle shopping and entertainment district. When packing it’s worth remembering that Kuala Lumpur enjoys a tropical climate, which is warm and sunny along with abundant rainfall, especially during the Northeast monsoon season from October to March. Temperatures are between 23°C to 33°C (74°F to 91°F).
The Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur offers a rather unique check in experience. You are welcomed in on the ground floor an where you will also find a concierge desk and can then take the express lift up to the Sky Lobby on the 39th floor which is the top floor of the building for your check-in. You get a magnificent view of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers From the Sky Lobby Lounge.
The spacious guest rooms are well maintained and everything possible has been thought of in the room design. They feel utterly modern and up to date, notably they have and a liquid crystal glass (LCG) enclosed bathroom cube that turns opaque at the press of a button. Also worth noting, the air-con works perfectly which is a relief in this climate and there is no charge for the internet for up to 6 devices. There is also a Grand Hyatt Club lounge a 24-hour fitness centre and Essa Spa.
Location wise KLCC is 5-7 min walk and the golden triangle is 15-20min walk via the skywalk The skywalk starts right from the back of the hotel. The KLCC grounds are also great for a morning jog and the KLCC shopping mall is ideal for wasting time and money.
The Grand Hyatt rooms come in at around $200USD, or possibly better value, this is a category four property so costs 15,000 Gold Passport points per night.
