I have known for a while that you can collect Avios with Small Luxury Hotels. This hotel chain is somewhat hit and miss. Just over a year ago I enjoyed had a trip to the Small Luxury Hotel, the Ashdown Park Hotel in Sussex, which offered fabulous food but rooms so bad I that decided not to feature it on Luxury Travel Diary.
At the other end of the scale are some of the best luxury hotels which also fall under the Small Luxury Hotels umbrella like the J.K. Palace in Capri, probably the best hotel in Capri (although I am also a massive fan of the slightly more remote Capri Palace which I have reviewed). Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola on the lakes in Switzerland is another beautiful Small Luxury Hotel that I have reviewed. If you choose carefully you can snag yourself a beautiful Small Luxury Hotels stay.
If you book before the 31st August you also will earn 4x the usual avios (of 500) ie 2,000 Avios into the bargain.
By my calculations, one avios airmile is worth over £0.01 but if you are lucky you can get up to around £0.02 out of your Avios (see my article on what is an Avios mile worth). So 2,000 has the grand value of £20-£40 per stay.
Not a great offer but if you are booking single night stays in less expensive areas, this is a nice bonus.
This Club Rate is only shown on slh.com once you are signed in as a Club member. As a club member after 5 stays you also receive a complementary slh.com night to use at any Small Luxury Hotels hotel subject to ts and cs and availability.
