I wanted to cover this luxury hotel opening simply because of it’s name, Sonesta Bee Cave! I can’t think of a more fun (or more strange) name for a hotel in Austin Texas.
The Sonesta Bee Cave is located adjacent to Hill Country Galleria, has been under construction for 15 months and has 195 guest rooms and 10,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space. One of the highlights of the hotel is the Hill Country-inspired rooftop space which will be occupied by Meridian 98, an upscale lounge and small plate eatery.
Doors will open with a ribbon cutting on Sunday July 5th.
Adrian Overstreet, the manager of the ownership group of the hotel said, “After 15 months of construction we are thrilled to open our doors to the public and show off our new Hill Country inspired hotel, especially our rooftop space. We believe the new hotel will provide the Bee Cave area with needed hotel rooms as well as meeting and function space. I hope everyone will join me on July 5th at 2 pm for the ribbon-cutting and hotel tour.”
Mark Sherwin, the Executive Vice President of Sonesta Hotels and Resorts said, “We are pleased to be opening our latest hotel in Bee Cave and Greater Austin. Each of our hotels, spread across eight countries is unique and individual, and we feel that the new Sonesta Bee Cave carries on that tradition. We think it is a truly amazing property.”
Why is it called Bee Cave? I guess we will have to travel on over to Austin Texas to find out!
