Wild Horse Inn Review, Fraser Colorado

Reviews : Accommodation

Wild Horse Inn is located just an hour-and-a-half from Denver near Winter Park, Grand Lake and the Rocky Mountain National Park. Tucked away in the forest and surrounded by mountains, Wild Horse Inn is perfectly situated for mountain activities including skiing, biking, golfing, fly fishing, rafting, horseback riding, and hiking.

Handcrafted from 400-year old logs, moss-covered rock, and giant picture windows, the Wild Horse Inn is reminiscent of the grand mountain lodges built at the turn of the 20th century, back when Colorado was rougher around the edges and refinement had a distinctively rustic flair. The lodging has recently been remodeled and offers a cozy mountain feel with updated high-quality decor. The lodge rooms and cabins offer a unique and intimate place to bed down. Amenities include Wi-Fi, private bathrooms most with jetted tubs, private balconies or decks, and cozy reading chairs. Don’t forget your four-legged friend! Dogs are welcome in specially appointed pet-friendly cabins. All have access to the hot tub, on-site massage services, and peaceful forest gardens.

Gourmet breakfasts are prepared and served by the private chef and include croissants and french toast with fresh marionberry compote which is sinfully delicious! During the day treats from the bottomless cookie jar and complementary all-day tea and hot chocolate provide fuel for your mountain adventures.

The Inn’s close proximity is to Devil’s Thumb Ranch is very convenient if you want to get a great lunch or dinner out. Devil’s Thumb also offers a large alpine center if you want to go snowshoeing or cross country skiing. Snow Mountain Ranch, Winter Park Resort, Granby Ranch, and Grand Lake are also just a few minutes away.

The Wild Horse Inn in Fraser, Colorado is the sort of place that guests return to year after year. This dream lodge is a tranquil place to decompress and relax with easy access to the forest so that you can take advantage of mountain activities. Alternatively, use this retreat to simply unplug and play games, read by the roaring fire, or soak in the hot tub.
