Park Hyatt Mallorca

News : Destinations

I love it when my favorite luxury hotel brands open in new and exciting locations. Here in Europe, we have a huge choice of bespoke hotels and brands like Leading Hotels of the World and Small Luxury Hotels, but the luxury brands like Four Seasons and Park Hyatt tend to stick to our cities.

The launch of the new Park Hyatt Mallorca will, therefore, be a luxury hotel opening to celebrate, a resort hotel under the Park Hyatt brand. I don’t have an official opening date yet. What I do know is that it will be located in Canyamel which has an international standard 18-hole golf course, far from the traditional tourist honeypots of Palma and the Southwest.

The new five star Park Hyatt will have 142-rooms with gardens, restaurants, waterfalls, pools, spa, and a beach and will overlook the Canyamel valley with views of the sea and the ancient town of Arta. It will also be within walking distance of the golf course and the historic Cuevas de Arta. The hotel is the centerpiece of a 61-acre master development, owned and developed by Grupo Cap Vermell, which will include residential properties and a number of high-end luxury villas (hmm perhaps the perfect winter residence!).

Peter Norman, Senior Vice President, Real Estate and Development for EAME, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, said of the project, “Mallorca is one of Europe’s most beautiful areas, and we believe that Park Hyatt Mallorca will deliver an unprecedented level of luxury and unrivaled hospitality experience to guests. Spain continues to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and Park Hyatt Mallorca will enable Hyatt to further enhance its visibility in Europe and further pursue its strategy to increase its brand presence in the region and new markets.”

The opening was originally planned for 2015 but there is no sign of completion just yet. If you sign up for our newsletter (in the footer of this page) I will be sure to update you as soon as I hear more about the Park Hyatt Mallorca.
