The pool has a mixture of Bali Beds and loungers. Be aware that you must reserve the Bali beds and loungers a day in advance if you don’t meet your reservation by 11 am they become open game. The oversized Preferred Club Junior Suite Tropical View (this is the base level preferred room) overlooks the lush tropical gardens that surround the resort. The view is definitely of the dense jungle type vegetation that you also find between the room and sidewalks. Your suite will be located in one of a number of three-story buildings. The rooms are large and decoration is elegantly tones of the Caribbean with dark mahogany furniture and marble floors accentuating classic details. A seating area with a sofa and a large comfortable bed finishes off the room.
Stepping outside means endless activities including Hobie cats, kayaking, windsurfing, and nightly entertainment beginning with theme parties and movies on the beach. Plus, there are oversized swimming pools, a fitness center, and — for an extra fee — deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and golf. The fitness center is located at the edge of the resort right next to the beach so the view is great plus it is well air-conditioned. There are 3 treadmills, 3 ellipticals, a couple of bikes and weights, and an array of fresh towels, fresh fruit, and refreshing mint water is provided. There is also a marked running path around the resort. For kids, there is an Explorer’s Club for ages 3 to 12 years old and Core Zone Teens Club.
Food-wise there are always delicious choices available. The resort provides unlimited access to fine, gourmet dining at five à la carte restaurants, a buffet, a grill and a café (reservations never required), endless top-shelf spirits at five bars and lounges and unlimited natural fruit juices and soft drinks. The ingredients are consistently fresh and full of flavor. the French restaurant, in particular, deserves some praise, as it really does pass for a real deal gourmet dining experience with adventurous appetizers, great fillets, and the perfect Crème Brule. The Japanese Hibachi is also excellent and the chef puts on a great show. There are also extensive buffets to choose from and the Coco Cafe deserves a mention as it’s like Starbucks, and you can enjoy espressos, lattes, and pastries anytime you feel like it.
