Name: Langanes Villa
If you are a frequent traveller, you will remember the ash clouds of 2010 that caused massive flight disruption to much of Northern Europe. Well how about getting up close and personal with the culprit? Iceland is home to several volcanoes and straddles two tectonic plates. It is renowned for its fire, ice and more recently, its volcanic dust. As a luxury traveller I am always tempted by Iceland’s desperately romantic scenery and rejuvenating thermal pools. I am convinced the restorative buzz garnered by a dip in a proper thermal pool like Iceland’s idyllic Blue Lagoon will enhance my youth and beauty, plus lazing around in a naturally hot pool surrounded by clouds of steam just seems like something that should be on my bucket list!
The luxury Langanes villa located on the dramatic Icelandic plateau and lava fields that surround the Eyjafjallajökull volcano. This 115 sq. m Villa, which is located in the South of Iceland, the most exciting and visited region of the country, has been built with care by one of Iceland’s best Master Carpenter Mr. Gudni Gudjonsson, with the assistance of his wife Hrafnhildur Steingrimsdottir who has overseen all the interior design, so that you may enjoy a luxurious stay in Iceland.
There are three bedrooms, one king, one queen and one twin – three bathrooms with direct access to the geothermal Jacuzzi on the sun deck, and should you tire of the views of nature, there is a 46” satellite smart TV in the living room, as well as in all the bedrooms. A fully equipped kitchen awaits you, and while making your meals you can enjoy the view of Ranga, one of Iceland’s best salmon fishing rivers. Should you want to fire up the gas grill for some barbecue, it’s right there on the deck outside the kitchen. If you don’t feel like cooking you can always take the 5 min drive across the River Ranga to Hotel Ranga and enjoy fine dining there. Fast food restaurants with take-away food are also within 10 min drive from the Villa. The cozy living room is ideal for relaxation after a busy day visiting the amazing sites in nature close by, or just to take in the breathtaking view of the infamous volcano Eyjafjallajökull, the Westman Islands, the 24 hour sunlight during the summer and the amazing Northern Lights during winter.
While away your days in the glacial jacuzzi, and spend the nights watching the wonderous Northern lights. Rest assured, a stay at this Icelandic retreat will be absolutely unique.
