Book A Stay

Nestled just a few steps from the historic Grand Place in Brussels and less than 10 minutes walk from Brussels Central station, The Dominican luxury boutique hotel is ideally located for a weekend exploring this fabulous city.

Location

The hotel stands on what was a Dominican abbey in the 15th century, and after 1800 the famous neo-classicist painter Jacques-Louis David had his home here. Now, sitting majestically among the golden gables in the heart of Brussels, it has become a luxurious 21st-century luxury hotel, offering a unique combination of historical elegance and modern design.

Style & Character

The interior is a contemporary interpretation of the old cloister, featuring the designs of the prize-winning Amsterdam agency, FGStijl. The restoration is beautifully finished. There is a trendy lounge bar with high ceilings and impressive windows, an intimate “Grand Lounge” restaurant, as well as a peaceful courtyard bistro for the summer. The stylish and uplifting decor mixes luxurious fabrics and rich colors, giving a relaxing feel to both the rooms and the communal areas.  Take a stroll through the abbey corridor in the late afternoon sun, have a casual drink in the cosmopolitan Lounge Bar, and experience an ever-changing range of moods in unforgettable surroundings.

Rooms

All rooms are luxurious and come with nice amenities like a Nespresso machine in the room. The hotel also has a small gym with a sauna and steam room. The Dominican Loft room is a highlight, located at the front side of the hotel and offering a luxurious feeling in a stylishly designed atmosphere with super comfy window seats.

Grand Place Suite offers an impressive 77 m² of living space with a living room, dining room, and luxury walk-in dressing room offering a splendid view of the Grote Markt square and the tower of the town hall. This elegant hotel suite is complete with a bedroom and kitchenette. Each and every detail of the interior was designed with your comfort and well-being in mind. Sink back in your chair by the fire, put your favorite music on the Bose Sound system and completely surrender to the luxury of this room, which has an almost decadent feel. The suite offers a great deal of space, but you may wish for more, and that’s easy: they can add extra rooms while guaranteeing optimal privacy and safety.

Food & Drink

The Dominican, Brussels offers an all-day Brussels eatery, bar, and hangout serving seasonal dishes, tasty drinks, and The Dominican laid-back vibe. Open seven days a week, they start fresh and early to serve you food and drinks until late. Sunday is the day to enjoy their specialties in the Classics Sunday menu.

The Grand Lounge offers culinary classics from all around the world. This beautiful FG Stijl-designed space is the neighborhood’s anchor for chill hang outs. Don’t miss otheir unparalleled club sandwich with a cool glass of chardonnay.

Discretely tucked behind the abbey’s facade is a groovy bar one might not expect. Sit in our velvet chairs and savor your kombucha within our generously decorated walls. A real treat to your taste buds and the discerning eye! This place is a destination bar in its own right, bringing a local vibe to The Dominican.

Finally a hidden gem in urban Brussels is The Courtyard. Nestled within the lofty arches is a blissful garden with its inviting terrace under the spectacular fig tree. This patio is one of the city’s premier and most charming outdoor settings, equally wonderful for a sunny hang out or a starry night with easy going music and familiar faces.
