Sheridan Beach Resort & Spa At Sabang Beach Review

Accommodation : Hotels

Name: Sheridan Beach Resort & Spa

Location: Philippines

The four star Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa at Sabang Beach, Puerto Princessa, Palawan, Philippines is the best resort in Sabang. You could not ask for a better location nestled in between stunning green mountain ranges and the clear blue waters of the West Philippine Sea. The resort faces directly onto the beautiful white sand, palm lined Sabang Beach and is just a few hundred meters from the Subterranean River, an entirely unmissable experience and one of the seven new wonders of nature! The service at the resort is excellent and friendly.

The resort consists of a number of spacious, clean and stylish superior and deluxe rooms (a number of which have private balconies) as well as suites which offer pool, mountain or garden views. Many of the rooms overlook the inviting 340 ft. long infinity pool, the largest in Palawan and surrounded by sun-loungers with their legs actually dipping in the water so you can lie and relax whilst cooling your feet and legs in the water. If you’d rather swim in the beautiful clear blue waters of the West Phillipine Sea then the soft, white sand beach is just a short walk from your room. Incidentally, many of the rooms are also interconnecting making this resort ideal for families.

Room facilities include a flat screen satellite TV with DVD player, there are a selection of DVDs available at reception to rent for free; complimentary coffee-making facilities and bottles of mineral water; wi-fi; a safe to keep your belongings secure. If you ask for a poolside, ground floor room, the balcony is facing the pool.

The beach-fronted South Sea Restaurant features both local and international gourmet fusions with several ingredients coming from the Sheridan Beach Resort’s very own Organic farm. There aren’t many places to dine outside the resort, bearing in mind the resort is very far from the city, but if you’re on a budget, you could try going to the port/terminal area (to the left of the resort’s beach area) where you’ll find other much lower-end resorts with dining facilities and at the port you’ll find a few shops where you can buy snacks and local drinks.

If you are looking to unwind and escape then you must visit the Sheridan Nature Spa for a truly indulgent pampering experience. Choose one of their relaxing massages the healing and calming Hilot massage comes recommended, or prepare for the evening with a manicure and pedicure. The resort also offers an outdoor gym and an entertaining games area with ping-pong, billiards, and a human-size chess board.

A ‘must-see’ while you stay at the Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa is the incredible Subterranean River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can arrange tickets before you arrive and the tour with Jun-Jun comes recommended as his English is very good and he is a very humorous and knowledgeable guide. It’s the longest navigable underground river in the world with ancient rock formations and structures. The island actually boasts two UNESCO World Heritage sites and is a well-known eco-tourism centre, so if you’re looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of this part of Palawan there are a great number of tours available. And after a long day sight-seeing, or if you simply just want to kick-back and relax, you can unwind at the Sheridan Beach Resort’s very own Sun N’ Dip Pool Bar or sip a few sun-downer cocktails at the Blue Bar. With such excellent service, stylish accommodation and stunning scenery there really is nowhere better to stay whilst exploring the beautiful garden isle of Palawan.
