Hotel Tres Palma de Mallorca Review

Mallorca (or Majorca) is a stunning predominantly rural island with architecture that you would find in Italy rather than the traditional white washed spanish Andalusian look. Palma is the Island’s capital and makes the perfect short break destination. The flight is 2 hours from London, and a 20 minute transfer will bring you into the centre of winding narrow streets, romantic squares and tree-lined of avenues. The town is bursting with Art galleries, excellent restaurants, boutique shopping plus it is incredibly clean.

You will find the boutique hotel Tres in a converted 16th century palace in the heart of the historic old town and close to the popular shopping street Borne. Step through the lack wrought iron gate and into the sanctuary of the central, shaded, medieval courtyard, with impressively tall palms and a little café. The hotel itself is Scandinavian-styled mixed with medieval history. The main building dates back to the 16th century and makes use of its rustic wooden beams and stone balustrades blended with modern white, glass and steel. Rooms are bright with a minimalist feel and the exclusive Grand Suite has an appealing Jacuzzi and private terrace.

The city beach, numerous shopping possibilities and attractions are just a short walk away but thanks to the signature Tres-table, a large tray, which is as wide as the bed and forward at will, or can be rolled back, you don’t even get up to eat and can indulge in the hotel service and delicacies without even leaving your room, although the rich breakfast buffet is definitely worth getting up for.

The roof terrace is a highlight of the hotel entices you to dip in the small but gorgeous swimming pool or to laze in one of the deck chairs while taking in the city vista. This charming design hotel offers boutique luxury. Even in the winter months it’s worth a visit. After a hard day wandering, warm yourself with a sauna session before cozying up in their lounge bar of with a cocktail.

The warm Mallorcan hospitality is felt throughout this boutique jewel. It is not just the location but the warmth of the staff that will keep you coming back to this retreat in the heart of Palma de Mallorca Old Town.
