Book A Stay

If the world were more like the Four Seasons London it would truly be a better place. Step onto the forecourt of this stunning property and you step into another world, where nothing is too much trouble and everybody knows your name.

After a stressful and protracted drive up to London, it was a delight to have my car door opened by the doorman. I no longer needed to concern myself with dragging my luggage, battling the traffic, congestion charges, or even opening doors – does that make me lazy?!

The foyer of the Four Seasons London is decadently attired in black marble and warm burgundy reds. To the left, as you enter is an intimate lounge and in front of you is the front desk where they seem to magically know who you are even before you introduce yourself.

The staff really are some of the best and warmest hotel staff I have ever experienced. They greeted my son like a long-lost relative and rushed over to him with a gift of LEGO. The service is slick from check-in to check-out. Often, even in the best hotels, I’m left not knowing where I am going and waiting for a member of staff to show me to my room. Not here. After a quick check-in, the same member of staff will personally guide you to your room. In my case, I was whisked into the luxurious black and burgundy lift by the sweetest girl called Yoko who couldn’t have made me feel more welcome.

Rooms
The rooms are exactly what you would expect from a Four Seasons and exactly what you’d wish for from a hotel of this caliber. Beautifully finished, perfectly appointed. Your every need is catered for.

The decor of the room is traditional and classy, with a plush feel. Objet d’art is scattered throughout with black and white prints of stars from the past having from the walls. I stayed in the Park Suite with the most mesmerizing view over the busy Park Lane and the beautiful Hyde Park. There is a most fabulous desk in a glass alcove that protrudes from the building and gives a 180-degree view. In fact, this inspiring desk is where I am writing today, with the gas fire hissing in the background and the quiet hum of the traffic, (yes as you would expect, everything is über soundproofed). This alcove must truly win any “desk with a view” or “most inspiring desk” competition!

The Suite’s doors slide slickly in and out of the walls, perfect for a dramatic bond-style entrance! Many have completely mirrored backs, the reflection ideal for testing an evenings outfit. But twice, confused if the main door was open or shut, I stupidly walked straight into it. The vanity of bumbling around without my glasses or contacts was to blame, not the evening’s consumption at the bar, honest.

The rest of the living area and bedroom is decorated in warm hues of golds, browns, and deep reds. It just works. The two bathrooms continue with the beautiful marble in the foyer, black shiny, and luxurious. Once again, the main bathroom houses everything you would expect from a Four Seasons bathroom with a little bit more. The photos speak a thousand words but in a nutshell, the bathroom is generously sized, double sinks, separate bath, rainforest shower, toilet with bidet, more towels, and Roja Dove toiletries than you could use in a year, let alone a night, plus some nice additional features like a TV inside the mirror which is surprisingly useful.

The suite has a comfy sitting area with two double sofas and a dining table. The main TV, sat above the gas fireplace (which even I could work) as you would expect is LOWE with a rather impressive sound system. We were greeted by a beautiful fruit basket and some yummy pastries on the dining table as well as a clear road sign on a plate announcing “Welcome To Park Lane”. I rather fancied the sign as a souvenir so I eagerly rinsed it under a tap in preparation for packing. To my horror, it started to disintegrate. It was made of sugar! Note to self – Next stay do not rinse sugar road sign gift!

Even the plush corridors are worth a mention. Adorned with photos of glamorous stars in the vain of Marylin Munroe, they feel safe and luxurious (you need to use your room key to get the lift to take you up to the corridors and rooms). In fact, even though this isn’t a small hotel, the Four Seasons London has the feel of a large boutique hotel with just the right number of rooms and with that “just right” lighting level everywhere – you look fabulous but can still see!

I could continue gushing for at least another few paragraphs but I feel it suffices to say that I had no desire to leave my gorgeous haven on Hyde Park Corner in central London.

You must go to the Four Seasons London, even if you just pop in for a drink in their bar, just to experience the loveliness of this fabulous Four Seasons Hotel. I’ll be back very soon!

We stayed at the Four Seasons London in a Park Suite which starts at around £3,700 GBP per night room only. Prices for a superior room start at around £660 GBP per night.
