I love satchel’s. Girly bags are obligatory for evenings out, weekends, holidays – just about any excuse you can find to show off a new tote is a valid excuse! But the bag for the office, (who wants to go to work with a briefcase, yuck!), or a stylish holdall to take on a flight has to be a lovely satchel.
Beara Beara make lovely satchels, so when they got in touch I was a happy girl. We only post about products we love on Lux Travel Diary and I was pretty sure Beara Beara was a brand that would appeal.
The company started with a journey through Latin America and a meeting with a Bolivian family who’d been making and selling leather bags from a tiny shop in the back streets of La Paz for many years. Beara Beara now use a network of skilled Boivian craftsmen and women to produce their bags, creating much need jobs in a isolated, third world country.
Each Beara Beara satchel is handcrafted from 100% natural leather, the quality is top notch. The smell of mine is gorgeous, like an old antique leather sofa. Everyone in the office likes a whiff. It’s looks lovely now and will look even better with a bit of age.
I have the large El Dorado Satchel. It’s big but doesn’t look silly when carried or strapped over my shoulder, there’s enough room for my Mac Book, iPad and all the miscellaneous rubbish I feel the need to carry around with me on a daily basis. I’ve been using it for over a week now and it already feels like an old friend, an essential part of my luggage. I can’t rate the quality high enough.
