Another date for your diary for those who can get the BBC. Take a look behind the scenes of India’s oldest and most famous hotel, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai (member of lhw.com).

This four part documentary series starts on BBC2 tomorrow night.

The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel is the choice of the mega-rich who would like to be treated like the maharajahs of India’s past. In a city where half of the population still lives below the poverty line, rooms here can cost up to £9,000 per night.

Over six months the film-makers follow the hotel’s 1500 strong staff as they perform their duties with the mantra ‘Guest is God’ in mind.
