Book A Hotel

We review the best executive club lounges at hotels and the airport SCL in Santiago, Chile.

If you want to stay in luxury in Santiago, Chile, there are some luxury hotels that should be at the top of your list, which includes Hotel Santiago, The Ritz-Carlton, and Santiago, W Santiago. Only the Ritz-Carlton has a club lounge, but there are other good hotels, if slightly less luxurious, in Santiago that is worth considering if you want a hotel with a club lounge.

Once just a stopover on the way to sites beyond, Chile’s capital city of Santiago now attracts hipsters perusing the trendy shops of Lastarria, business types making deals over power lunches in Las Condes, history lovers museum-hopping in the colonial-era city center, oenophiles sampling world-class wines at one of the area vineyards and adventurers hiking in the snow-covered Andes.

Besides the museums, which are great, try hanging out in barrio Lastarria and barrio Italia, both trendy areas and full of nice restaurants and bars. Don’t forget to visit Cerro San Cristóbal, where you can take the teleférico for a ride to the top of the hill and take photos of the city and Cerro Santa Lucía downtown. Santiago downtown may just be one of the prettiest downtowns in South America.

I have compiled a list below containing the club lounges available across luxury hotels in Santiago and the International Airport. I list the lounges that I consider to be the best of the best. I will be reviewing each of these hotel club lounges in detail so that you know what you’ll get if you book a room with club lounge access or get upgraded to a club lounge for free because of your loyalty status.

1. The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago

The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago, is strategically located in the capital’s most prestigious and refined neighborhood, El Golf. The hotel is just 30 minutes from Santiago International Airport and within walking distance of exclusive boutiques and restaurants.

Besides good business, the capital city promises entertainment, pleasure, and excitement for fans of outdoor activities such as skiing, surfing, or trekking among the Andes Mountains.

The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago, has 205 guestrooms, including 49 Club-level rooms and 3 Club Suites, 15 Executive Suites, and a Ritz-Carlton Presidential Suite located on the 14th floor. Rooms and suites are distributed among 14 floors crowned by a glass dome housing an indoor pool and Jacuzzi.

All rooms feature a delicate and warm combination of earth tones and gold in a classic décor. Amenities include dual phone lines, 24-hour in-room dining, a digital safety deposit box, an honor bar, a CD clock radio, and more.

Dining facilities include The Lobby Lounge for Afternoon Tea, cappuccinos, and light meals. In the evening, The Ritz-Carlton Bar features premium cocktails, fine wines, champagne, and an exclusive pisco menu, accompanied by live Jazz entertainment.

Estrois is the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, guided by a “Chilean Farm to Table” concept, with the very best local products used in their kitchen. Estró’s style is relaxed, warm, responsible, and enriched with flavors and handcrafted techniques from around the world. 100° is your other dining option, which is contemporary and minimalist in design with a brilliantly illuminated wine cellar display.

A 7,440 sq feet spa and fitness center with floor-to-ceiling windows welcome guests under a glass cupola that offers a magnificent view of the Andes mountains and the city of Santiago. In addition to sports equipment, there are spa treatment rooms for massages and special beauty treatments, a whirlpool, a sauna, an indoor heated swimming pool, and a sun deck on the terraced roof.

The Ritz-Carlton Club Level in Santiago is located on the 10th floor. It is a hotel within a hotel.

A dedicated Concierge attends to individual needs in a well-appointed, relaxed lounge environment, with continuous culinary offerings throughout the day (breakfast, light snacks, hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and sweets) and access to a computer station. It is the ideal place to conduct business, plan a family outing, or simply unwind, and it is the best club lounge in Santiago.

To access this club lounge, you will need to book one of the luxury club rooms at this Ritz-Carlton.

2. Renaissance Santiago Hotel

Renaissance Santiago Hotel offers a modern hotel in an unrivaled location in the upscale community of Vitacura located just moments from downtown Santiago and Patio Bellavista mall.

Unwind in chic rooms and suites with luxury bedding, stylish décor, and 24-hour room service. Many of these rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning views of the Andes Mountains. This is a major advantage over the small windows at the InterContinental in Santiago featured below.

Enjoy Chilean cuisine at Catae Restaurant and discover Asian-fusion dishes at SHINSEI, as well as mesmerizing views at the rooftop bar. Active travelers can maintain their workout routine at the fitness center and an outdoor pool.

The club lounge here is magnificent, with stylish wood flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing amazing views of the city and the mountains. These features make this club lounge one of the very best club lounges in Santiago.

3. Santiago Marriott Hotel

Santiago Marriott Hotel is a Rewards Category 4 Marriott Bonvoy hotel. The Santiago Marriott Hotel is located in Las Condes, close to boutique shopping at Portal La Dehesa and the Bicentenario Park in Vitacura.

Unwind in elegant rooms appointed with pillowtop mattresses, marble bathrooms, ample workspaces, and mesmerizing city and mountain views. There are two on-site restaurants. Alternatively, unwind at their modern lounge with delectable appetizers and cocktails.

When downtime arises, treat yourself to tranquility with access to premier spa treatments, saunas, and steam rooms at Nao Health and Fitness. The outdoor pool is also a great alternative for a relaxing day.

Santiago Marriott Hotel has an executive club lounge beautifully located with superb views over the city and mountains, much like the club lounge at the Renaissance. Evening alcoholic drinks include red and white wine but no beer.

4. InterContinental Santiago

The InterContinental Santiago is a 377-room hotel set in three high-rise towers located in the financial district near San Cristobal Hill and the presidential palace. The hotel is also within walking distance of the cafés and boutiques that line Avenida Providencia, as well as the big brand stores at the Costanera Center mall.

The hotel feels a bit dated in design, but it is well maintained, so it remains a true 5-star. There are four restaurants, with grill favorites at 2920, Italian fare at Pasta & Basta, and Japanese fusion at Temple, along with an indoor swimming pool, a well-equipped gym (but you have to pay a fee), and a spa room.

The rooms are not large with small windows, but the rooms in the Club Tower are better than the other towers. These rooms have a more modern style, and the building has a separate lobby and updated amenities.

The Club Tower has a more contemporary look, with a vertical living wall garden in the small lobby and modern cream decor in the 81 guestrooms. The quietest rooms can be found on high floors facing away from busy Avenida Vitacura, so be sure to request one of these if you are a light sleeper.

Book a Club Room, and you will have access to the exclusive club lounge for breakfast and small snacks during the afternoon and evening canapes and drinks. While there is a generous spread of food in this executive club lounge, both morning and evening, the ambiance is lacking.

The lounge is on the 3rd floor of the Club Tower, looking out the back of the hotel onto flats, so there isn’t a view as such, and the lack of stylish fittings and power sockets means that this is a bad club lounge by InterContinental standards. It is probably not worth the money if you are considering paying to upgrade to this lounge.

5. Crowne Plaza Santiago

While the InterContinental, which is reviewed above, is located in the financial & high-rise center of Santiago, the Crowne Plaza is located closer to the airport, walkable to popular tourist attractions, and nearer to the metro. Crowne Plaza Santiago is in a relatively safe area of Santiago,

This Crowne Plaza used to offer free club lounge access for IHG Platinum members, but this has been discontinued, making there less of an incentive to choose this IHG hotel.

The downside of this Crowne Plaza is that it is dated. The rooms are dated but functional. On the plus side, it has a large club lounge and the staff are good.

Location-wise, the Crowne Plaza is ideally located for Santiago’s main tourist sights, and the access to the metro is better than at the InterContinental. The Bella Vista neighborhood is a short walk away, and this is where you will find the Funicular and La Chascona, as well as upscale restaurants and bars. Many guests rave about the steak restaurant “La Hacienda Gaucha”, just around the corner.

When choosing between the InterContinental vs. the Crowne Plaza in Santiago, the only advantage of the Crowne Plaza is the location. In all other respects, including the club lounge, the InterContinental is the best choice.

6. Sheraton Santiago Hotel and Convention Center

The Sheraton Santiago Hotel and Convention Center has a club lounge on the 21st floor with superb views of Santiago and the mountains. Rather than being open all day, this lounge is only open for happy hour from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. On offer is a large buffet, including cheeses and cold cuts, veggies, and a dessert platter, along with one complimentary alcoholic drink. The views make this an excellent club lounge in Santiago, but the fact that it is open only in the evening means that we are forced to put it at the bottom of our club lounge listing.

Other Sheratons in Chile include Villarrica Park Lake Hotel & Spa and Sheraton Miramar, but neither of these offers a club lounge.
