Book A Stay

The coast of Maine is well known for its beauty both on land and by sea. Traveling along the coastline offers a whirl of storybook seaside towns, white lighthouses standing proudly on rocky outcrops, and forests dropping into the wild blue Atlantic Ocean.

In the summer, travelers are drawn to this natural beauty, and towns bulge with activity. Outside of the main season, the majestic scenery, particularly as the trees turn red in the fall, makes the Maine coastline one of the most romantic destinations in the world.

Location

Perched at the edge of one of Maine’s most scenic harbors in the coastal village of Camden, the Grand Harbor Inn, Maine, is a small and distinctive boutique hotel. This exclusive and intimate waterfront Inn evokes a coastal cottage with shingle-style architecture, blending perfectly with the historic waterfront buildings on Camden Harbor. This is the only luxury AAA 4-Diamond Waterfront Inn in the area.

Style & Character

Newly built and opened in the spring of 2010, the Inn is located on the harbor’s edge in a waterfront marketplace known as Bay View Landing and within walking distance of everything you could possibly need. The welcome is warm and genuine, with cookies and lemon water in the lobby. The rooms are cozy, with fireplaces and immense views across the harbor.

Rooms

This boutique hotel features just ten luxurious rooms. The style is inspired by Tuscan Villas, with a rustic, old-world charm combined with all the contemporary comforts and amenities you would expect from a luxury boutique hotel. Textures and soothing color tones take center stage within each guest room.

These are complemented by natural linen fabrics, drapery sheers to filter the light, rich leather and upholstered seating, and layers of inviting bedding from Cuddledown® of Maine. The look is completed with hardwood flooring and plush carpeting. The bathrooms are contemporary, highlighted by a custom marble and tile rain shower, Jacuzzi tubs, and granite countertops. The rooms all have custom amenity closets with mini-frig, microwave, and gourmet coffee and tea brewing units by Keurig.

Food & Drink

Continental breakfast is bought to you on a tray and includes delicious quiche, scones, yogurt, granola, coffee, and juice. You can enjoy breakfast inside or in the summertime on your balcony, looking out over the gorgeous harbor. For your evening dining, Camden and the nearby towns of Rockport and Rockland are graced with an abundance of fine dining choices, many of which are just steps away from the Grand Harbor Inn. Whatever your preference, this area has just about any cuisine you might fancy.

Conclusion

If you book a room at the Grand Harbor Inn during the summer, expect to laze on your terrace watching the boats bobbing around literally just outside your window. In the winter, you can cozy up fireside in your room. Whatever the season, this is an idyllic venue to enjoy a pre or post-dinner glass of the local apple wine while you congratulate yourself on discovering this lovely little harbourside hotel.
