Book A Stay

The little island of St Barts is known to attract the rockstar glitterati. It is easily the most exclusive of the Caribbean Islands and comes with a distinctly French flavor.

Location

Being in the Caribbean, The sun rarely doesn’t shine on St Barts, with temperatures of 20ºC to 33ºC. The peak season is Thanksgiving to March, climaxing during the two-week Christmas/New Year period when prices rocket and you need a billionaires wallet or hefty fund managers portfolio to indulge in a slice of this perfect emerald isle.

The hurricane season runs from July to November, though this is unpredictable. Good times to go are July and August when the weather is usually fine, you can enjoy this exclusivity at slightly less extortionate rates, and most places are still open.

Style & Character

Le Sereno is an intimate beachfront luxury hotel and spa, combining simplicity, elegance, and five-star service in 37 suites and three spacious villas, all overlooking Grand Cul de Sac, the bite-shaped cove on the eastern coast.

Designer Christian Liaigre (who has designed houses for Lagerfeld and Kenzo, among others) has transformed Le Sereno into a stylish retreat. Natural materials and linens contrast with dark woods that offset the spectacular views of the turquoise Caribbean sea. 80% of the rooms are beachfront rooms, and all are situated at sea level, as well as the restaurant, spa, and gym.

Guests tend to be ‘high-profile’ clients looking for a ‘low-profile’ experience. Unbelievably, Le Sereno is the only hotel on the island with a pool exclusive reserved for hotel guests only! Le Sereno is also the only hotel on the island with complimentary VIP meet & assist service in St. Maarten airport. Other complimentary offerings include full breakfast, complimentary Le Sereno Beach Bags and Havaianas and a daily complimentary soft drink minibar in all rooms.

Rooms

The rooms include all the accessories you would expect of this level of a five-star hotel (iPods, wireless Internet access, plasma-screen TVs, 24-hour butler service).  Three unique Sereno Villas also grace the grounds with three bedrooms each, stunning views, and private pools. The views are pure Caribbean: turquoise bays and low hills dotted with houses the color of sugared almonds.

Conclusion

Go to St Barts for exclusivity, peaceful, pristine white-sand beaches, calm, clear blue waters, super swish accommodation, and gourmet restaurants. In this luxury traveller’s opinion, Le Sereno, St. Barts truly is as close as you will get to heaven on earth.
